From April 14th to 15th, 2026, the (Second) Aerogel Products New Technology and New Application Exchange Conference was grandly held at the Shishan International Conference Center in Suzhou. This conference, as a core event of the 2026 Asia Silicon Industry Technology Conference and Exhibition (AST2026), brings together over 200 experts and enterprise representatives in the field of aerogel from across the country to jointly explore new directions for technological innovation and application implementation in the industry. Jin Chengli, the founder and chairman of Ningbo Shengrun New Materials Co., LTD., was invited to attend the conference and deliver a significant keynote speech. This conference is hosted by Beijing Guohua New Materials Technology Research Institute and organized by ACMI Silicon-based New Materials Research Institute. At the Aerogel Materials and Products Innovation sub-forum, Chairman Jin Chengli, under the title of "The World's First Water-based Environmentally Friendly Process for Low-Cost Production of Aerogel Materials and Its Applications", shared his profound technological accumulation over the past two decades and the disruptive achievements of more than ten years of specialized technological research and development, which attracted high attention from the entire audience. As an industry veteran expert with over two decades of experience in the field of aerogel and a recipient of the "Yongjiang Talent" and "Hometown of Scholars Talent" awards, Chairman Jin Chengli holds over 50 invention patents and has been fully involved in the entire process of aerogel industrialization, from the laboratory to large-scale application. He is a pioneer and innovation leader in the industrialization of aerogel in China.

The core focus of this speech is to share the key breakthroughs of Shengrun's water-based environmental protection technology:

1. Performance up to standard will not be compromised

The sol-gel method is adopted to retain the nanoskeleton and nanopore structure of aerogel, and the technical difficulties of water-based drying are overcome to ensure that the nanopores do not shrink or collapse. The production line with an annual output of 10,000 cubic meters, which was put into operation in June 2025, has been running stably. The thermal conductivity of the product is as low as within 0.017W/ (m · k), and its performance fully meets the standards, with some indicators surpassing those of traditional processes.

Abandoning hazardous chemical solvents such as ethanol, there is no risk of flammability or explosion, and the discharge of waste gas and wastewater is significantly reduced. Production costs have been reduced by over 30% and equipment investment by 50%, facilitating the large-scale popularization of power gel in scenarios such as building energy conservation, industrial insulation, and new energy.
